an exhibition of exciting new work by Lucy McKenna.
Show opens on Sunday the 6th of September at 7.30 pm.

Exhibition opens on the 1st and runs until the 31st of September.
' The Big Bang ' by Lucy McKenna.
Exciting, young, Kilkenny artist Lucy McKenna has always been inspired by the world around her. Bright, lively and beautiful, Lucy’s paintings explore the macro landscapes of nature, biology and physics. She describes her work as, “ a unification of cosmological outer space, the earthly environment and a sub-atomic world of particles, neutrons and quarks.”
Lucy has just been accepted as artist-in-residence for 8 months at the Castlecomer Estate Yard, Co. Kilkenny. She has also been offered a two-month residency with NES in Skagaströnd, Iceland and was awarded a month's residency in Vermont Studio Centre, Vermont USA .
Lucy has had many successful solo exhibitions throughout the country, including a sell out exhibition in the carlinn gallery.
Her work is included in many public collections including St. Luke's Hospital, Dublin, Castlecomer Community School, the Kilkenny Rape Crisis Centre and she was commissioned to create the Irish Defence Forces Christmas card as well as to create a piece for presentation by them to President Mary McAleese.

Optional Dinner : The carlinn gallery is pleased to offer you the opportunity to enjoy an early evening combination of art appreciation and fine elegant cuisine, at ' The Big Bang ' dinner.
Starting at 4:30pm with an informal viewing of the show at the gallery, refreshments served,
running until 5:45pm, at which point we make our way to the delightfully intimate Kingfisher Bistro.
A two course dinner will commence at 6:30pm of some of the most elegant and finest cuisine in the county.

- Deep Fried Crab Cake served with pepper couli, basil mayonnaise and house salad.
- Warm Chargrilled Chicken Salad, baby cos, sauteed potato, garlic croutons, crispy bacon lardons & creamy caesar dressing.
